What we collect: ReviewLens is a local-first browser extension with no account required; no personal data is collected except what you actively submit (e.g., feedback content and optional contact info). When you analyze a product, the extension sends the text content of publicly visible reviews (star rating, text, variant info) to the AI provider you configured to generate the report. Only if you activate a Pro license, the activation code and a random device ID (a UUID containing no personal data) are sent to the developer's license server to bind the code to one device and prevent sharing. Only if you submit feedback, the feedback text, optional contact info, and basic environment info (extension version, OS, browser language, random device ID) are sent to the developer's server. Your API key, settings, reports, and chat history are stored only in your browser's local storage.
Where data goes: review text goes to your chosen AI provider under their privacy terms; the activation code and device ID go to the developer's license server solely for license validation (no buyer personal data is stored there, and binding records are removed on unbind); feedback submissions (content, optional contact, environment info) go to the developer's server; IP addresses are logged on activation/feedback endpoints solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention, never for identifying or tracking individuals; everything else stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
Permissions: storage (save settings/reports locally), sidePanel (show the UI), and host permissions limited to reading publicly visible reviews on product pages you visit and calling your configured AI API. No browsing-history collection, no tracking, no automated transactions.
